Dozens of Gambian journalists have been denied entry into the National Assembly chambers on Monday as lawmakers began debating on the draft constitution.

It comes as the Minister of Justice appears before lawmakers for the first reading of the country’s draft constitution.

Only GRTS, QTV and Eye Africa Online TV are allowed in the chambers

The National Assembly has faced criticism among journalists and ordinary Gambians including activists who condemned the act.

The House is yet to give any reason for the unfortunate action.
