The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Appeal Board has ruled that Senegal have forfeited the final of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, awarding a 3–0 victory to Morocco.

The decision was made in application of Articles 82 and 84 of the AFCON regulations, following an appeal lodged by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF). The Appeal Board upheld the Moroccan federation’s protest and set aside the earlier decision of the CAF Disciplinary Board.

In its findings, the Appeal Board determined that the conduct of the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), through its national team, constituted a violation of Article 82. As a result, Article 84 was applied, leading to Senegal being declared to have forfeited the final, with the match officially recorded as a 3–0 win in favour of Morocco.

The Board also ruled that all other motions or requests for relief submitted in relation to the appeal were dismissed.

In separate but related decisions, the Appeal Board partially upheld appeals concerning incidents during the match. Moroccan international Ismaël Saibari was found guilty of misconduct under Articles 82 and 83(1) of the CAF Disciplinary Code. His sanction was revised to a two-match suspension, with one match suspended, while the previously imposed fine of USD 100,000 was overturned.

CAF also confirmed that the Moroccan federation bears responsibility for the conduct of ball boys during the match, although the associated fine was reduced to USD 50,000. Additionally, a fine related to a laser incident was lowered to USD 10,000, while a separate USD 100,000 fine concerning interference around the OFR/VAR review area was upheld.

All other aspects of the appeals were dismissed, bringing closure to the disciplinary proceedings surrounding the AFCON 2025 final.
