Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, leader of the opposition United Democratic Party, has advised personnel of the Gambian security forces to refuse being use by politicians against their fellow Gambians.

Darboe made the advice while addressing huge crowd of party supporters at Manjai Kunda Bureau after his candidates for mayoral and chairperson elections filed their nomination to the Independent Electoral Commission.

“I want to appeal to these people in uniform not to allow politicians to use them. We have seen revelations from the TRRC of security forces [maltreating citizens].

“The leadership of the security forces of this country should not allow themselves to be demonise by the Gambian people because some unscrupulous politicians using them,”he said as he gets cheered up by hundreds of supporters dressed in his party colour of yellow.
