Dr Ismaila Ceesay, Minister of Information, has rejected allegations made by Neneh Cheyasine Secka-Kebe, vice president of the Golden Era Party, regarding the First Lady’s office spending.
Dr Ceesay described Secka-Kebe’s claims that the First Lady reportedly spends D150,000 daily from public funds as “false” and misleading.
He urged politicians and the public to rely on verified budget data rather than unsubstantiated figures.
His statement directly addresses Secka-Kebe, who recently accused the government of prioritising presidential household spending over essential sectors like agriculture.

Dr Ceesay warned that spreading such information without evidence can misinform citizens and inflame public debate.
Secka-Kebe, however, maintains her position, highlighting budget allocations she says support her claims.
She argued that public funds should be scrutinised transparently and consistently, regardless of political affiliations.
