Reliable information reaching our desk indicates that players of Second Division side Elite United FC have embarked on an indefinite sit-down strike over unpaid match bonuses and last month’s salaries.

The bonuses in question are linked to an impressive run of form during the month of Ramadan, where the team recorded five wins and one draw in six matches. Despite this strong performance, players are yet to receive their entitlements.

Sources confirm that the squad has boycotted training since Monday and are prepared to miss their upcoming league fixture on Wednesday if their demands remain unresolved.

This is not the first time tensions have escalated between the players and management.

A similar dispute last season over unpaid remuneration disrupted the club’s momentum and was widely seen as a major factor in their failed promotion push.
