
Saihou Bah, former principal of Sheikh Mass Kah Senior Secondary School, has passed away, his family has announced.
Mr Bah died on Wednesday morning at his residence in Kanifing.
In a statement, the family described him as a devoted father, uncle and brother, and a man of knowledge who touched many lives in and beyond the classroom.

“We are heartbroken to lose him, but forever grateful for the lessons and love he left behind,” the family said.
In a tribute, Sheikh Mass Kah Senior Secondary School said it was deeply saddened by the passing of its former principal, who devoted more than two decades of dedicated service to the institution.

“Mr Bah was more than an educator and administrator. He was a man of faith, integrity and unwavering commitment. His leadership, rooted in strong Islamic values, inspired discipline, responsibility and righteousness,” the statement said.
Beyond education, Mr Bah was also a respected journalist. He studied in France at the CFPJ – École de Journalisme in Paris and later at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée in Besançon.
As an editor and contributor to the French edition of the Daily Observer, he brought rigour, professionalism and integrity to Gambian journalism.

Mr Bah is remembered as a dedicated educator, principled leader and committed journalist whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.
