The Gambia boys’ athletics team powered their way to a bronze medal in the medley relay at the African Youth Games Angola 2025, stopping the clock at an impressive 1:56.53.

The quartet of Buba Bayo, Musa Kujabi, Madiba Jatta, and Modou Lamin Touray, who ran the anchor leg, delivered a composed and well-executed race to secure a podium finish for the country.

Touray’s strong finish proved decisive as The Gambia held off late challenges to cross the line in third place.

The medal adds to The Gambia’s growing success in athletics at the Games and reflects the depth of emerging sprint talent within the national youth setup, further underlining the country’s bright future on the track.
