The Gambian President Adama Barrow has appointed Immigration Director Seedy Muctarr Touray as the country’s new Inspector General of Police.

Touray replaces Abdoulie Sanyang who has been promoted to the position of the minister of interior, as Siaka Jatta is redeployed to the Foreign Service.

Mr Touray is also replaced by his deputy Bai Ebrima Mboob as the immigration chief.

The new changes happened as Barrow overhauled his cabinet that saw the appointment of fresh hands like Dr. Ismail Ceesay as the new information.

“Seedy Muctar Touray current Director General of The Gambia Immigration Department is appointed Inspector General of The Gambia Police Force, while Immigration Commissioner, Mr. Bai Ebrima Mboob is appointed Director General, Gambia Immigration Department,” State House said.
