Gambian left-backs Sainey Sanyang and Tijan Sohna went head-to-head in Bulgaria as CSKA Sofia cruised to a 5-1 victory over Beroe in the top-flight league.
Sanyang, a Gambian international, came on in the 61st minute for CSKA Sofia, while Spanish-born Sohna started for Beroe before being substituted in the 66th minute.
Both players, who play as left full-backs, posed together after the match in a gesture that highlighted the growing presence of Gambian talent in European football.
Reports suggest that Sohna could earn his first call-up to the Gambia national team during the next international break, potentially joining his compatriot Sanyang in the Scorpions’ squad.
