The Gambian President Adama Barrow has hailed newly promoted military officers for their loyalty to the country.

According to GAF leadership, the promotion of the officers rank of lieutenant colonels to colonels is based on merits and done in line with the security sector reform. 

The officers are also advised to continue discharging their duties within the ambit of law and do away getting into illegal activities.

Addressing the officers, President Barrow promised his administration’s full support to the Gambia Armed Forces.

“The occasion highlights the trust and confidence bestowed on them as well as recognition of dedication to duty and exemplary leadership qualities and of all loyalty to our beloved country. Colonels, let me observe briefly that you must also view your promotions as opportunities to strive,” he told the officers.
