
A Gambian youth, Ebrima Loppy, has been confirmed as the victim of a fatal stabbing in Parkville, Maryland, in the United States.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, officers responded to a call at around 4:05 a.m. on Monday, 29 December, to the 1700 block of Edgewood Road (ZIP 21234).
Upon arrival, police found 22-year-old Loppy suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives said both the victim and a suspect were located at the residence.

Preliminary investigations indicate the incident was isolated and stemmed from a dispute between the individuals involved.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been made public, remains in custody while formal charges are pending.
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat related to the case.
This is the second fatal incident within a week involving young Gambian males in the United States.
Last Saturday, Abubacarr Darboe, a 22-year-old Gambian, popularly known as Buba, was shot and killed while visiting relatives in Madison.
