The Gambia’s sensational wrestling king, Leket Bu Barra, has been dethroned by wrestler Yaya Jammeh in their heated combat at the Serekunda West Park.

Leket Bu Barra received warnings after his opponent Yaya Jammeh forced him out of the ring twice while he only managed to forced Jammeh out of the ring once.

The Barra-born sensational wrestler has been the country’s wrestling reigning champ since 2015.

The two combative wrestlers couldn’t spark up the match with much fist-fight but used most of the combating time to attempt grappling wrestling.

Hundreds of wrestling fans and spectators graced the grand combat from all walks of life in across the country, which saw the newly elected mayor for Kanifing Municipality, Talib Ahmed Bensouda shook hands with Deputy speaker and spokesman for the ruling National People’s Party, Seedy SK Njie. 

Wrestler Jammeh could have ended the wrestling match after cornering Leket, but the Barra-born magically manouerved under Jammeh to get himself out of that tedious moment, igniting cheering from his supporters.

The wrestling ended in a disappointing note for Leket who was defeated after being wrestled to the ground.

Hundreds of his fans were left heartbroken and saddened to see one of the longest wrestling throne occupants dethroned.
