
Region 3 secured maximum points against Region 1 in the girls category of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Inter-Regional Football Championship after a convincing 3-1 victory, inspired by a stellar display from Haddy Cham at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium.
Haddy Cham spectacularly opened the scoring, unleashing a stunning strike from outside the 18-yard box to hand Region 3 a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Region 1 responded strongly after the break and restored parity just two minutes into the second half. However, Fatou M. Cham put Region 3 back in front midway through the half before Haddy Cham completed her brilliant performance with her second goal of the match to wrap up the victory.

In the Region Two derby, Halimatou Badjie netted the decisive goal as Region 2 East claimed local bragging rights with a narrow 1-0 win over Region 2 West.

The result sees Region 3 top Group A with four points, having opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Region 2 East.
Meanwhile, Region 2 West suffered its first setback after beginning the girls’ competition in dominant fashion with a commanding 3-0 win over Region 1 in its opening fixture.
