President Adama Barrow has fired a warning shot at his rivals ahead of the 2026 polls, boasting that he’s the real threat to the opposition.
The Gambian leader brushed off claims by his ally, Lands Minister Hamat Bah, who had branded Kanifing Mayor Talib Bensouda’s new Unite for Movement as a “major threat” to the ruling NPP.
But Barrow hit back, urging Bah to stay calm and stop panicking.
“We are the workers and they are the talkers,” Barrow declared.
“They fear us because we’re the majority. I’m the threat to them, not the other way around.”
President Barrow’s statement comes amid shifting political alliances and increasing attention on Mayor Bensouda’s new political platform.
