
Islamic Relief USA, through its implementing partner Africa Relief and Community Development, has provided over 3,000 Ramadan Food Baskets to seven communities in Foni Kansala, supporting vulnerable families ahead of the holy month.
The initiative targeted orphans, widows, disabled persons, and other disadvantaged groups, helping to ease economic burdens and promote community solidarity.

The distribution was carried out with the assistance of local leaders, including village Alkalos, and security support under Commander Famara Jarju, ensuring a smooth and peaceful rollout of the program.
Staff of Africa Relief and Community Development coordinated the effort, reflecting professionalism, transparency, and commitment to humanitarian service.
Hon. Almameh Gibba, National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala Constituency, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a blessing from Allah (SWT) that restores dignity, renews hope, and strengthens faith among the constituency’s residents.

He also thanked councilor Hon. Tijan Manga and other stakeholders for their role in supporting the distribution.
Hon. Gibba reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting communities through partnership and unity, praying for continued blessings for all donors, volunteers, and partners involved in the programme, and urging Gambians to embrace the spirit of giving during the holy month.
