
Five men arrested for dangerous drifting on the Sukuta–Jabang Highway have been jailed for a combined 19 years by the Brusubi Magistrates’ Court, following a successful police prosecution.
Momodou Martin Sanyang: jailed for 3 years and fined D25,000.
Serigne Mass Gaye: jailed for 3 years and 3 months on two counts, and fined D26,000.
Muhammed Bah: jailed for 3 years and fined D45,000, with an additional 2 years if the fine is not paid.
Ismaila Faal: jailed for 3 years and fined D45,000, with an additional 2 years in default.
Samba Ceesay: jailed for 3 years and fined D25,000.
Sanyang and Gaye will serve their terms at Jeshwang Prison.
The case marks one of the toughest sentences yet in the crackdown on illegal drifting and reckless driving in the Greater Banjul Area.
