Gambian defender Joseph Ceesay scored a brilliant solo goal in Empoli FC’s 2-1 away defeat to Serie B leaders Modena on Friday.

Joseph Ceesay picked up the ball just inside the opposition half, drove forward with pace and precision and finished with a beautiful low curler into the net to give Empoli the lead.

However, Modena fought back strongly, scoring twice to overturn the deficit and secure all three points.

Despite the defeat, Ceesay’s performance stood out, taking his league tally to two goals in nine matches this season.
