Kanifing East have retained their place in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division following a hard-fought 2-0 playoff win over ASM Athletic FC at the LYDFF grounds in Basori.

Goals from Ismaila Sowe and Henry Bah Kanu proved decisive on the day, as both players found the net to steer their team clear of relegation and ensure they will compete in the Second Division again next season.

For ASM Athletic, the defeat means they will remain in the Third Division and will have to regroup and try again next season in their quest for promotion.
