Four youths arrested over protests against the removal of former Auditor General Modou Ceesay have been granted bail.
Environment and Climate Activist Kemo Fatty, Alieu Bah, Omar Saibo Camara, and Momodou Camara were arraigned on 16th September 2025.
They faced charges of unlawful assembly under Section 63 of the Criminal Offences Act 2025 and common nuisance under Section 137(1). All pleaded not guilty.

Momodou Camara told the court he was not part of the protest, claiming he only went to check his car at a nearby garage when police accused him of filming the demonstration.
The prosecution did not oppose bail but imposed strict conditions: the accused must not participate in any future protests without a permit from the Inspector General of Police, or their bail will be revoked.
Magistrate Sallah ruled the offenses were bailable and set bail at D50,000 each, with one Gambian surety per accused.
They are expected to appear at court for the next hearing on Tuesday, 21 October at 1 pm.
