Majanko Samusa has claimed President Adama Barrow cut ties with him after he advised him against seeking a third term in 2026.

The former nominated National Assembly member, who supported President Barrow’s re-election in 2021, alleged that the president was unhappy with him following his advice not to seek a third term.

In an audio message circulating on social media, which appears to be his voice, Mr Samusa said: “I have advised Adama Barrow not to seek a third term in office. I told him to hand over to one of his party members to contest the 2026 presidential election.

“He was very unhappy with my advice, and since I returned from Turkey, I haven’t heard from him. I also do not want any appointment from him,” he added.
