Presidential candidate for the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Musa Jammeh, has pledged to build on the achievements of past football administrations while introducing reforms aimed at taking Gambian football to greater heights.

Launching his manifesto ahead of the GFF presidential election, Jammeh said his campaign is centred on continuity, innovation and transformation rather than dismantling the progress already made.

He paid tribute to former GFF presidents, including the late Alhaji Ousman Bassi Konate (Fisco), Alhaji Gabi Sose Gabisose, Alhaji Omar Sy, Sedi Kinteh and incumbent President Lamin Kaba Bajo, saying each administration contributed to the development of Gambian football despite facing different challenges.

Jammeh said the history of the federation offers valuable lessons that should guide future leadership, stressing that institutions thrive when governance, accountability and long-term planning take precedence over personalities.

The GFF executive committee member and founder of Falcon Football Club said his decision to contest the presidency is rooted in years of experience as a player, club administrator and football official.

He promised to preserve governance reforms, strengthen financial sustainability, modernise football administration, expand infrastructure across the country, improve player welfare, commercialise domestic competitions and invest more in youth and women’s football.

Jammeh also unveiled his campaign team, describing it as a group of experienced football administrators and professionals committed to serving the game with integrity, competence and accountability.

“Our campaign is not about personalities or division. It is about preserving the institutional gains of the past while unlocking new opportunities for the future,” he said.

He urged GFF delegates to elect a leader with both vision and experience, arguing that the next president must understand the federation’s history while being prepared to navigate the future.

Jammeh said his ambition is to write the next successful chapter in the history of Gambian football by building on the legacy already established.
