A 43-year-old Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer died on March 6 after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure during a holiday in Thailand.

According to the Daily Mail, Ubiribo underwent the procedure at an unnamed clinic in Bangkok shortly before his death. A UK coroner later ruled that the cosmetic procedure caused a fatal pulmonary embolism.

Ubiribo, also known as “Tiny”, “Denisi” and “Ego”, was on holiday in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, when he decided to undergo the procedure.

The Daily Mail reported that 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis.

After the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel for a massage. During the massage, he complained of chest pain and collapsed twice.

He was taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors suspected a pulmonary embolism and recommended a CT scan. However, he lost consciousness before the scan could be carried out.

He was transferred to intensive care, where medical staff performed CPR for more than 100 minutes, but he died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination conducted in the UK later found cellular material in his lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the procedure.

Pathologist John du Parcq told an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court that the material matched the substance used in the penis filler and was consistent with a pulmonary embolism.

Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently ruled that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by the cosmetic procedure.

The Daily Mail reported that the inquest also heard about Ubiribo’s medical history. His London doctor said he had previously undergone joint surgery and had been described as pre-diabetic and suffering from gout, but had no other significant medical conditions.

Ubiribo was known for documenting his affluent lifestyle on social media and had about 185,000 Instagram followers.

He was later buried in London in a gold coffin, with Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, reportedly a childhood friend, among those who attended the funeral.
