Ousainou Bojang has been reportedly taken back into custody shortly after his release from Mile 2 Central Prison, in what many are describing as a rearrest by the state.
Bojang and his sister, Amie Bojang, had been freed by the High Court on Tuesday, March 30, 2026, after three years of legal proceedings related to the Sukuta-Jabang shooting, which resulted in the deaths of two young police officers.
The court cleared both siblings of the alleged crimes.
A crowd of supporters who had gathered to welcome Bojang’s release reportedly consoled him and expressed continued support.
Social media reactions have been intense, with calls for a solidarity march to urge authorities to respect the court’s verdict.
No official statement has yet been made by the police regarding the reported rearrest. More details are expected to follow. More details follow…
