The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) on Friday graduated 149 personnel following the successful completion of a two-week Internal Security Operations (ISO) training programme at the Gambia Armed Forces Training School in Fajara.

The intensive training was aimed at strengthening the military’s preparedness to respond to emerging domestic security challenges and enhancing operational readiness.

The specialised course focused on public order management, crowd control tactics, civilian protection and coordinated response operations.

Military officials said the programme forms part of broader efforts to improve force readiness and support national stability.

The graduating personnel were drawn from the Defence Headquarters Camp, the Gambia National Army, the Gambia Navy and the Republican National Guard, reflecting a joint approach to military operations and rapid response capability.

The graduation ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to participants and instructors, as well as a group photograph to mark the completion of the second batch of the ISO training programme.

The event was presided over by the Commander of the Republican National Guard, Brigadier General Yaya Drammeh.
