
Senegalese journalist Pape Birame Bigué Ndiaye has been arrested as part of ongoing investigations into the Pape Cheikh Diallo, Djiby Dramé and associates case.
According to sources close to the investigation, the arrest was carried out by the investigation brigade of the Keur Massar gendarmerie company under a judicial delegation linked to the case.
Ndiaye was taken into custody in the middle of a press conference addressed by public prosecutor Ibrahima Ndoye, who was briefing journalists on the death of student Abdoulaye Ba.
He was reportedly escorted away by plainclothes gendarmes as the briefing was underway.
The circumstances surrounding Ndiaye’s alleged involvement in the case have not yet been officially disclosed.
