Officers of the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) in Kanifing have arrested a suspect during a night patrol operation across the municipality, as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and improve public safety.

The operation, conducted by the Delta Company, saw officers deployed to several key areas, including Coastal Road, Sinchu Alagie, Sinchu Sorrie, Tawto, and Kairaba, where a visible security presence was maintained.

During the patrol, officers also dispersed individuals engaged in dangerous car drifting along the highway, with no incidents reported.

At around 3:00am, the patrol team intercepted a tricycle at Kotu Silo near the bridge, where one suspect was arrested after officers recovered a goat believed to have been stolen.

The suspect, along with the recovered animal, has been handed over to the Latrikunda German Police Post for further investigation.

The PIU said it will continue to intensify night patrols across the Kanifing Municipality and has urged members of the public to cooperate with security forces by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
