Police have arrested a 40-year-old man from Jambanjelly after allegedly being found with a suspected pistol and ammunition.

The arrest happened on Saturday, 15 November 2025, when a patrol team intercepted a vehicle at Bundung Borehole at around 10:30 p.m.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a suspected pistol and twelve rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was taken to the Bundung Police Station as investigations continue.

The Gambia Police Force reminded the public that illegal possession of firearms is a serious offence and warned that anyone found with weapons will face the full force of the law.
