Police have been asked to investigate a corruption claim with Gambia Ports Authority.

At least four suspected staff of Gambia Ports Authority have also been suspended pending an outcome of the investigation.

The Seaport is expected to publish its preliminary findings into the scandal on Wednesday.

“As we anticipate the initially constituted investigate committe to submit its findings on Wednesday 16th March, 2022, we wish to inform that the issue of revenue shortage and suspected fraud at the Rating Unit of the GPA has been handed over to the Police to assist in the investigations,” the Ports said in a statement.
