The Gambia Police Force, through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Brusubi, has launched an investigation into an alleged double murder involving two young men.

The victims, Essa Anderson, 24, of Paradise Estate, and Alhagie Gaye, 24, of Bijilo, were reported deceased to the Police by relatives. Following the report, a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team was immediately dispatched to the locations at Dalaba Estate, Paradise View, and Bijilo.

Preliminary investigations indicate that both men sustained severe physical assaults. Their bodies have been transported to the mortuary in Banjul for postmortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death.

The Police Force said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. 

In a statement, the force reassured the public of its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring justice. Members of the public are strongly urged to respect the rule of law and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
