Police have launched an investigation into suspected large-scale cybercrime activities in Tujereng, following the seizure of dozens of electronic devices.

According to the Gambia Police Force, officers confiscated 36 laptops, 174 mobile phones, 32 desktop computers, and networking equipment during the operation.

Sixty foreign nationals, believed to be Chinese and Vietnamese, were taken into custody. Authorities are working with relevant agencies to confirm their exact nationalities.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were running fraudulent schemes linked to offshore companies, targeting victims abroad through cryptocurrency investment scams and fake social media recruitment.

The Police stressed that investigations are ongoing but reaffirmed their commitment to tackling cybercrime.

They also urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid online investment offers that promise unrealistic returns.
