Police have rushed additional officers to Mandinary after the death of a man sparked chaos in the community.

Two pick-ups packed with riot police sped into the area as residents vented their anger over Lamin Badjie’s death.

He reportedly died in hospital after allegedly falling during a police pursuit.

Frustrated locals vandalised a police post, prompting police to fire tear gas to disperse the crowd and restore order.

Police said they reinforced the area to prevent further unrest as investigations into the incident continue.
