Police have held a somber send-off for the fallen officer, superintendent Ndeye Mbye, who was laid to rest today (15 Dec) at Latrikunda German cemetery.

The late Ndeye Mbye passed away on Wednesday.

A procession of police officers accompanied the coffin which was draped in blue to the cemetery. A guard of honour played the last post and gave a three-gun salute.

The late police superintendent has been described as a “pious Muslim who had respect for mankind”.

“She was a good wife and she obeyed me throughout until her demise. She had birthed good children for me. And I pray that Allah grants her the highest place in Jannah,”said Amadou Joof in his eulogy to her late wife.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Momodou Sowe, accompanied by senior police officers and government officials, paid tributes to the late officer describing her as “committed to her work” and “would be hard to replace”.
