President Adama Barrow on Friday commissioned the newly reconstructed Masjid Sayerr Jobe, the Serekunda Central Mosque, along with a new mortuary facility in the heart of the bustling city.
The redevelopment of the mosque complex was funded by the President in collaboration with donor partners.

Officials say the project is part of broader efforts to promote religious tolerance and address long-standing challenges of limited space and inadequate facilities at the Serekunda Central Mosque.

The new complex is expected to better serve worshippers in The Gambia’s most populous urban centre, providing an expanded prayer space and improved infrastructure to meet the needs of the growing congregation.
