Gambian President Adama Barrow is with other Ecowas leaders in the Niger capital, Niamey, where they will discuss security issues, the political crisis in Mali, and the impact of Covid-19 on the West African sub-region.

The 15-member states will also discuss the jihadist threat on the region, and the Mali crisis where talks between the Junta and Ecowas leaders floundered.

The Junta is demanding a three-year transition while the West African leaders demand the soldiers to hand over power to civilian rule.

The Ecowas summit is underway in Niamey, Niger.
