A witness in the civil suit between GACH Global Trading Company Limited and former Gam Petroleum managing director Saikou Drammeh has told court that Drammeh received nearly €750,000 and $240,000 from the first defendant, Kaddijatou Kebbeh, via her brother.
Abdoulie Saine, a former associate of Drammeh, said the money was delivered to Drammeh’s Brufut residence in October 2021.
A video shown in court reportedly shows Drammeh counting the cash and taking photos of the bags of euros and dollars.
Drammeh’s lawyers had objected to the witness’s affidavit, arguing it was filed months after the writ of summons.
The objection was overruled by Justice Jaiteh, who allowed Saine to adopt his affidavit and undergo cross-examination.
GACH Global is seeking over D58 million, alleging the defendants fraudulently retained payments for petroleum supplies.
Saine is expected to continue his testimony in upcoming hearings.
