Seedy SK Njie, deputy speaker of the National Assembly, has reaffirmed his support for a law banning Female Genital Mutilation, citing that MPs are committed to ensure the law remains. 

“For us, our position is clear: the FGM law is here to stay and will not be repealed. We are greatly committed to the protection of Gambian women and girls from all forms of violence,” he said.
