Senegal secured a 2-0 victory over The Gambia in the Senegambia derby at the ongoing WAFU A Women’s U-20 Cup of Nations in Bissau 2026.

Mariama Fatty opened the scoring to give Senegal the lead in a closely contested encounter between the two West African rivals.

The Gambia pushed for an equaliser but struggled to break down a disciplined Senegalese side that remained organised throughout the game.

Senegal captain Sokna Nogaye Tall sealed the win in the 74th minute, putting the result beyond doubt and ensuring her side claimed all three points.

The result marks a strong statement from Senegal in the competition, while The Gambia will be aiming to bounce back in their next fixture.
