Mariama Tambedou delivered one of the standout performances of the day at The Gambia Secondary Schools Sports Association National Inter-School Athletics Competition, storming to gold in the 3000m Girls final with a commanding display of endurance.

The Gunjur athlete controlled the race throughout, her stamina unmatched as she pulled away in the closing stages. Mariama Baldeh of Latrikunda Sabiji claimed silver after a strong effort, while Isatou Jallow of Jamisa settled for bronze.

In the High Jump U-15 Girls final, Albreda Mariama Bah soared highest to take gold, with Mansa Colley securing silver and Salimatou Conteh of Abuko earning bronze after an impressive contest in the field event.

Relay events also produced thrilling action in the semi-finals. Jamisa impressed in the 4x100m Open Boys Semi Final 1, taking control from the third baton before anchor Musa Kujabi powered them to victory. Nema-Su finished second with Buba Bayo anchoring, while Mahaad placed third.

In the girls category, Jamisa Senior won the 4x100m Semi Final 1 ahead of Mahaad and Yundum Barracks, while Farafenni Senior led 4x100m Open Semi Final 2, finishing in front of Bansang Senior and St. Georges.

With finals taking priority and relay battles intensifying, the competition continues to showcase emerging talent across the country.
