A tourist has tragically drowned in the swimming pool at Mansea Beach Hotel.

The incident occurred early in the morning when the visitor reportedly entered the pool before designated swimming hours, at a time when pool supervisors and lifeguards were not yet on duty.

Initial reports suggest the tourist, who was visiting from the United Kingdom, may have underestimated the depth of the pool.

Hotel staff were alerted shortly afterwards, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
