A 19-year-old Gambian man has died in Manduar after reportedly consuming the deadly drug, kush, sparking shockwaves in the community.

The victim, Dawda Ceesay, was rushed to Brikama District Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. His body is being kept at the hospital mortuary, pending a possible postmortem examination.

The Gambia Police Force has once again warned the public, especially young people, against consuming kush and other harmful substances, which pose severe risks to health and life.

Kush is a highly dangerous drug, reportedly laced with human bones, and has been linked to the deaths of dozens of young people since it emerged in The Gambia several years ago.
