A truck driver was found dead inside his vehicle at the Banjul Ferry Terminal early Saturday morning while waiting to board the ferry.

The deceased, identified as Omar Bah, a native of Kerr Sare Samba Nyado, was reportedly discovered lifeless inside his truck after workers repeatedly called on him to move the vehicle with no response.

According to his apprentice, Ebrima Bah, the late driver had been suffering from asthma and occasionally experienced severe attacks.

He said they were together until around 4am before Omar went into the truck to sleep.

Witnesses said the alarm was raised when ferry workers and other drivers tried unsuccessfully to get his attention as boarding preparations began.

The discovery caused concern among passengers and workers at the terminal.

The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.
