The Office of the Vice President of The Gambia has paid tribute to the women serving within the institution, praising their dedication and leadership in national service as the country marks International Women’s Day.

In a special message, the office described the women working across its various units as “the beating heart” of the institution, acknowledging their daily contributions and commitment to public service.

The tribute highlighted that a majority of units within the office are led by women, a development described as a reflection of their competence, leadership abilities and professionalism.

Officials said the women are not merely participants in governance but play a crucial role in shaping the work and direction of the institution.

The message also commended the leadership of Muhammed B. S. Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia, for his support toward women’s advancement within the office.

According to the statement, the vice president has helped foster an environment where women are trusted with leadership responsibilities and encouraged to contribute fully to national development.

The office noted that placing women at the helm of several units demonstrates a practical commitment to women’s empowerment, adding that such opportunities allow talent and leadership potential to flourish.

Officials further expressed appreciation for the vice president’s continued confidence in the women working within the office, describing his support as an example of how empowerment can be advanced through opportunity, trust and respect.

The message concluded by celebrating the dedication, talent and inspiration of the women serving in the Office of the Vice President, noting that their work continues to strengthen governance and public service in The Gambia.
