A regional security task force in the North Bank Region has arrested 31 people during an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected irregular migration activities in Sami on Thursday.

The operation, led by CSP Ramatoulie Manneh, followed reports of organised gatherings believed to be linked to irregular migration. Officers carried out the raid without incident.

Police said those arrested are undergoing security screening and background checks to determine possible criminal links or connections to migration networks.

Individuals requiring further immigration processing will be handed over to the Gambia Immigration Department in line with immigration laws.

Investigations are continuing to identify and arrest suspected agents or facilitators involved in organising irregular migration.
