APRC has threatened legal action against the people responsible for the arson attack on  the party’s political bureau in 2016.

A man who identified himself as Sheriffo Sanyang has alleged that some key figures of the APRC party were behind the arson attack on the party bureau ahead of 2016 presidential election that saw Jammeh defeated in power.

Sanyang alleged in a leaked audio that former mayor Yankuba Colley, speaker of the parliament Fabakary Tombong Jatta, General Saul Badjie and former interior minister Ousman Sonko sponsored and masterminded the arson attack on APRC political bureau along Ice Man Road in Kanifing.

However, Fatoumata Jahumpa Ceesay, APRC General Secretary & Resource Mobiliser said the party is taking the allegation seriously.

In a statement she said: “The APRC will take up the matter with the Inspector General of Police and further engage our legal experts to help us bring to justice anyone responsible.

“The APRC National Bureau contained valuable properties, important documents, ‘Ashobis’, and assets that were burnt inside the offices of the bureau. We still possess pictorial evidences of the remains of the burnt materials at the time.”
