Ismaila Ndong, a taxi driver accused of rape and armed robbery charges, has been freed by the Banjul high court after a successful ‘no case to answer’ submission.

Ndong was arrested in 2019 after being linked with a spate of crimes in the Kanifing Municipality targeting lone women at night.

He was charged with 20 criminal counts including rape, robbery, and indecent assault. He however denied all counts.
