A blazing fire has razed an entire compound to ashes in Touba Sancha, leaving the occupants with almost nothing.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Residents scrambled for help, using buckets of water in an attempt to extinguish the raging flames.

“The whole compound was burnt down,” Musa Ceesay, a resident of the neighbourhood, told Gambiana.

However, he accused the Gambia Fire and Rescue Service of failing to show up at the scene despite multiple calls.

“We called the fire service several times but they didn’t show up. This is very sad,” he said.

The Gambia Fire and Rescue Service has yet to respond to the allegation.
