The Satayba Derby between Bombada FC and Brikama United took centre stage in the final round of the first round, delivering intensity, drama and a landmark result.

After a tightly contested first half that ended goalless, Brikama United arguably created the better openings but failed to convert their chances.

The breakthrough arrived shortly after the restart when Lamin Colley capitalised to give Bombada FC the lead. Despite late pressure from Brikama United, Bombada held firm to secure a 1 0 victory.

The result marks Bombada FC’s first ever derby win over Brikama United, a significant moment in the town rivalry and a statement finish to the first round of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Gambia Ports Authority and TMT FC settled for a 1 1 draw, with Sulayman Faal converting a 90+2 minute penalty to cancel out Yahya Ndong’s first half opener. Hart FC and BST Galaxy FC shared the spoils in a goalless encounter.
