More than ten people have been arrested after an angry mob stormed the Bakau Police station to protest against the death of missing Bakau taxi driver, Omar Sonko.

The deceased lifeless body was found today in Salaji after he was reported missing by his family last Friday.

Police have named his alleged killer as 46-year-old Muhammed Thomas of Brusubi.

The angry youth used sticks and stones to stormed the station and blocked the main road of Bakau with burning tyres.

Police fired teargass to disperse the mob and made several arrests.

Speaking to Gambiana exclusively, Police spokeswoman Cadet ASP Binta Njie confirmed that some youths have been arrested.

“There were arrests, but I can’t confirm the number,” she told Gambiana, adding “more than ten people are arrested.”
