
The Gambia and Senegal have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations following high-level talks on the margins of the African Union Assembly in Addis Ababa.

Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sering Modou Njie, Attorney General Dawda A. Jallow and senior foreign ministry officials, met Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko during the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly.

The discussions centred on strengthening long-standing ties between The Gambia and Senegal, with a focus on closer diplomatic engagement, expanded trade and economic cooperation, enhanced security collaboration and deeper regional integration.
Officials said the talks underscored a shared commitment to cooperation and stability, aimed at advancing mutual prosperity for both countries.
