The Gambia boys’ beach volleyball team duo of Bunja, Bakary Kanyi and Abdallah Jallow, pulled off a thrilling 2–1 victory over the USA in their U-18 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship Pool H clash in Doha, Qatar.

The Gambia claimed the opening set 22–20 in a closely contested battle, before the USA bounced back to take the second 21–14, forcing a decisive third set.

In the winner-takes-all set, the Gambians displayed composure and tactical discipline to edge 15–12, sealing a memorable win.

The young team will look to carry this momentum into their next group match as they pursue success on the global stage.
